Achieving high availability and security of web services for SOA-based applications

Today, web services are being deployed increasingly in industries as a means of enabling Business-to-Business integration (B2Bi) and Enterprise Application Integration (EAI). With the success of such deployments, there are high demands from the industry for mechanisms that can enable highly secure and available web services, for handling complex business problems. This report discusses the results of the project that investigated and developed the mechanisms for building highly secure and available web service-enabled applications. The methodology used in developing the mechanism is also introduced. The key features and implementation consideration are described, with potential usage scenarios provided as examples.
